Frequently asked questions
General questions
How do I prepare for a pest control treatment in my home?
Clean all the floors in your house, this includes vacuuming carpets and rugs. Move furniture away from the walls to give the pest control technician access to all corners and areas of the house or business. Spray treatments are done to all floor/wall edges to make sure that where possible these areas are accessible.
Cover all animal enclosures like aquariums and cages with sheets or towels.
Ensure our pest control technician has access to all areas outside the house, under the house, the roof and wherever else they may require access. If it is an outdoor treatment, remove animals from the area during the time of treatment.
If required, be prepared to leave the home during the treatment for up to 4 hours.
Can I stay in my home during the treatment?
Ideally, you would be home to meet our pest technician and advise of any problem areas or concerns. A quick risk assessment will be done to make sure that we take preventative measures for any pets you may have. After that, a 4-hour wait before re-entry is optimal. If you elect to stay in your home during a treatment we will insist that you are not in the same room whilst our technician is spraying.
Note: There are certain types of people who are more prone to pesticide poisoning They include:
Young children
Pregnant or nursing women
Elderly adults
People with asthma or severe allergies
We strongly advise that these people remain away from the property for a minimum of 4 hours.
General Pest control
Can you provide a guarantee for your pest control services?
No pest control company can guarantee that certain pest problems won’t occur again in 12 months, and no chemical label will offer that either. We can’t control what home owners do as well, as poor hygiene practices can and other environmental factors can cause re-infestations.
So whilst we can’t guarantee that certain bugs won’t return, what we can guarantee is that if the bugs do return within the given warranty period, so will we. We use a combination of the best chemicals rather than the cheapest, and we aim not return. But we will if we have to.
How often do I need to schedule domestic pest control treatments?
For termite inspections once a year, unless you are in a high pressure area and you have had issues with termites. For general pest control, once a year has been the tradition, however some homes that are considered high pressure may require more. For complete peace of mind, you may want to consider a 6 monthly domestic service.
Are you licensed and insured for pest control services?
We are fully trained, licensed and insured. We are also accredited by the manufacturers for all the products we use and continually conduct applicator training for new products and equipment on the market.
Are your treatment methods safe for my family and pets?
Yes, our technicians use pest control chemicals that are of low toxicity to humans and are applied in such a way that reduces the amount of over spray. We only use original manufactured chemicals. We always grant access to SDS (safety data sheets) so that you can check if needed.
Will the pest spray your technicians uses stain my walls or carpets?
Our technicians only use water based, pest spray chemicals which will not stain. There will be a light mist residue after the treatment however this will dry and be completely invisible.
What if it’s raining on the day?
Our technician will make a decision on the day as to whether we can effectively carry out pest management or not due to rain. If necessary, we would rather postpone the pest control job and treat on a better rather than risk not doing a satisfactory job due to the chemicals getting washed away. Whatever happens, it will be a decision that we decide on together.
Termite control
How do you determine the best treatment plan for a termite problem?
Treatment plans for your home are determined by the unique construction of your home, and also choices you want to make. Some people prefer baiting systems for environmental reasons – not putting a significant amount of chemicals in the ground. It also involves less drilling into concrete areas of your house and is designed to eliminate local colonies that threaten your home.
Others prefer the security of knowing that they have a continuous barrier of protection, plus the added protection of the Termidor $2million guarantee. We are accredited Termidor professional applicators including the latest Termidor HE formulation. All treatments are put to you as a proposal first and we will discuss every detail with you and answer all your questions before proceeding.
